Lena Bergenwall has been an authorized guide in Gothenburg and Kungsbacka since 2010. She brings history to life with stories about architecture, everyday life, and people. As a member of Göteborgs Guideklubb, Kungsbacka Guideförening, and Walknet, she draws on deep knowledge of Gothenburg and Kungsbacka, supported by her pedagogical training. Walknet guides specialize in city walks and cover most of Gothenburg on foot, highlighting different themes across the city. Lena especially enjoys themed walks such as Trädgårdsstaden, focusing on Änggården, Kungsladugård, and Bagaregården. This year's new tour is “Mölndals Kvarnby and the power of the rapids” along Götaforsliden.

Lena loves guiding in central Gothenburg with walks that connect history and architecture to the present day. Places that particularly interest her include the area around Magasinsgatan and Kaserntorget and the Victoria quarter, where old and new meet in exciting ways. She also enjoys guiding about architecture and the traces of architects in Gothenburg, including a special tour about the Carlberg family, who shaped the city's architecture for nearly a century. She calls this walk “Carlberg Houses in Today's Light”.

Lena's interest in languages and culture began early, as she lived abroad during her upbringing, which later led her to France and Paris for French studies. In addition to her teaching degree with pedagogical training, she holds a bachelor's degree in French. In recent years she has deepened her knowledge of architecture, history, Gothenburg's built heritage, and art history through standalone courses at the University of Gothenburg.

Through her work as a language consultant providing language training at international companies, she meets people from all over the world. Learning a language also involves deep knowledge of Swedish culture. "I value constantly developing and learning new things. Our Gothenburg has its own history, but it is also connected to the wider world. It is fascinating to understand how the history of Pompeii influenced Gothenburg's architecture, how the mills in Mölndal had a major impact on Gothenburg's industrial growth, how the garden city ideal emerged, or how old and new in Victoriagården have been combined in exciting ways."
